Stop the Lift of Night Traffic Ban in Bandipur National Park

Stop the Lift of Night Traffic Ban in Bandipur National Park
The Issue
I have always been entranced by the majesty and grace of wildlife in their natural habitat, and the power of nature in maintaining a delicate balance. This year, my concern for this balance compelled me to take a stand. In the heart of the Bandipur National Park, a proposed lift on the night traffic ban on National Highway 766 threatens to wreak havoc on our cherished ecosystem.
Roadkill data compiled by dedicated locals reveals a disturbing trend. There were 30 wildlife deaths recorded on NH 766 and NH 181 between 2021 and 2025. An analysis of this data brings the urgency of the situation to light: 2 incidents in 2021, 9 in 2022, 4 in 2023, 13 in 2024, and 2 deaths in 2025 so far. Biologically valuable species - tigers, elephants, and leopards - have been frequent victims, disrupting the equilibrium of our reserve.
Conservationists concur that any easing of the night traffic ban could only lead to a bleak outcome. It is our duty to honor the Park's status as a critical habitat, and our responsibility to prevent further tragedy. It is essential that we maintain the night traffic ban to safeguard the future of our wildlife and cherish the ecological balance which Bandipur National Park is renowned for.
Join me in urging authorities to uphold the enduring protection of our natural elements. Close your eyes and imagine a world where human progression and wildlife conservation coexist harmoniously. That world begins with stopping the lifting of the night ban in Bandipur National Park. Sign this petition today, and let your voice be heard for the voiceless.
