The tax payers want a Vote! We want to pick our option. The Town and Village Board started this to save money for the tax payers and help Leicester's crumbling department. They have had meetings when families have been trying to enjoy their summer. The main point is that they are going to appoint new government in 10 days unless we have as many Leicester voters sign this petition to stop it. Taxes are going to go way up, we will not be able to vote on a fire department option like we were told, given cheaper tax options, not given the Fire District with 5 year term limits with appointed leaders. We need to give the tax payers time to become aware and make a choice if they want to have a fire district and have taxes raised or just consolidate the departments to save money, which was a cheaper option. Only Leicester residents/voters can sign. If you you want to stop the Fire District from moving forward, please sign so we can have our right to vote on an option we like.
