The Issue

Rural Sportsmen’s Association located at 1090 Trexlertown Rd (rt 100) is planning to place a permanent large Cell Tower on their property in a parcel that is located in extremely close proximity to residential properties near the Terrace at Lehigh and Autumn Park apartments and will be visible to Cross Creek and likely Parkland View apartments along with The Velodrome, Rodale Park, and other area recreational parks. This unsightly monstrosity will tower (at a MINIMUM) 50+ feet decreasing property values and pose health risks for residents.

From scientific research published in the International Journal of Cancer Prevention it has been shown in the article  “Increased incidence of cancer near a cell-phone transmitter station” the following was documented.

300% increased incidence of cancer among men and women

900% cancer increase among women alone

>4x risk of cancer after 3-7 years exposure < 350 meters

early age of cancer diagnosis

This tower will put our children, ourselves, and our friends and family at risk of long term health consequences.  A cell tower will decrease our house and rent values.

Information identified via antennasearch.com appears to show there are approximately 25 towers already w/in a 3mi Radius of the Upper Mac Township Building.

Cell phone towers have a maximum range of 25mi, however they are likely to have strong signal w/in a 3mi radius.

Please consider adding your name to this petition to let Upper Macungie Township and the Rural Sportsman Association know do not want this in our neighborhoods.

As of this post, RSA has already begun clearing the land for the project, even though the UMT Zoning Board has not approved the appeal.

A public hearing is scheduled for August 9th 6:30pm at the UMT Building located at 8330 Shantz Rd

Please take action now before it’s too late
