LUSU Annual General Meeting 2025 Agenda

Thank you for your incredible support for our petition. You spoke up and said NO to hate on our campus. Now, it's time to take the final and most crucial step. Our motion has been accepted for debate at the LUSU Annual General Meeting (AGM), and we need you there to make it official LUSU policy.

The Final Step: Your Voice at the AGM

Signing the petition was the start; attending the AGM is how we win. For our motion to pass and become policy, at least 328 students must be present at the meeting (in-person or online) for the vote to count. This is our moment to turn our shared belief in a safe and respectful campus into concrete action. Your presence is vital.

Our Motion on the Agenda

The official agenda includes LUSU AGM 2025, Motion 1 - Refuse to Affiliate (when affiliation reopens) the Reform UK Society in its Current State

As part of our opening statement, we will be presenting evidence and explanations on the conduct of the society's leader, Jack Eccles, to demonstrate why these measures are necessary.

This motion calls on the Students' Union to resolve to:

  1. Refuse affiliation to the society in its current state until it can demonstrate sustained compliance with LUSU’s Code of Conduct and equality obligations.
  2. Require the group, should it apply, to submit an action plan, establish internal governance with mandatory training, and issue a public statement committing to respectful engagement.
  3. Require all political societies to sign an annual declaration committing to non-harassment and respectful conduct.
  4. State that groups whose actions - not just their views - promote discrimination or hostility are ineligible for affiliation or funding.

You signed the petition because you believe in a campus free from hostility and discrimination. Now is the time to see that belief through. We need you there, in person or online, to help us reach the 328-student quorum and pass this motion.
