STOP THE KILLING!! Protect Malaysia's Magnificent Tigers and Elephants

The Issue

Malaysia's vibrant and diverse ecosystems are home to a rich array of wildlife, including endangered species such as the Malayan tiger, the Asian elephant, and the Sunda pangolin. Unfortunately, these majestic creatures face a grave threat from increasing road constructions and heavy traffic. Every year, hundreds of animals are killed on our roads, a tragic and preventable loss that not only threatens their existence but also our natural heritage.

Constructing MORE animal bridges—ecosystem-friendly overpasses—across our highways offers a sustainable solution to this increasing problem. These wildlife crossings have been successfully implemented in countries around the world, such as the Netherlands, Canada, and Australia, where they have significantly reduced roadkill incidents and aided in the preservation of biodiversity.

By integrating animal crossings in our national infrastructure plans, we not only protect our wildlife but also promote eco-tourism, creating additional economic opportunities for local communities. This initiative is a win-win solution that enhances Malaysia's commitment to conservation and sustainable development.

Join us in urging the Malaysian government and relevant authorities to take immediate action and construct MORE ANIMAL BRIDGES and VIADUCTS across key highways. MAKE IT MANDATORY FOR TRAFFIC TO SLOW DOWN AT WILDLIFE WARNING SIGNAGES.

Between 2016 and 2021, more than 2,500 animals were killed on Malaysian roads, including numerous endangered species. Since 2023 alone, six Malayan tigers have died in road accidents—an alarming statistic considering fewer than 150 remain in the wild.

Sign this petition to support a future where wildlife can safely roam their natural habitats without the threat of traffic. Let's protect Malaysia's wildlife and preserve the natural beauty of our country for generations to come. Please sign and share this petition with friends, family, and your social media networks to raise awareness and make a difference.
