I have watched videos of Hope and Bounce for a long time, falling in love with their enchanting bond as they roam the forests of Lake Tahoe. It breaks my heart to think that they, who have become symbols of love and unity, might be cruelly taken away from us due to senseless actions.

Sadly, California Fish and Wildlife have set bear traps with the intent to capture and euthanize these innocent bears, severing the life-giving connection between mother and cub. Their crime? Simply existing in a habitat that was theirs long before it was anyone else's. These actions stand in stark contrast to the values of compassion and coexistence that we hold dear.

There is a viable and humane alternative available. The Bear League, a trusted organization dedicated to the welfare and safety of bears, has generously offered to fund the relocation of Hope and Bounce. They can live peacefully and thrive without being a threat to their own existence. Yet, despite this solution, California Fish and Wildlife refuse to allow this relocation, choosing instead a more violent path.

Hope, the embodiment of a nurturing and loving mom, deserves to care for her cub Bounce in peace. They are not just bears; they are living beings with whom we share this planet and they deserve our protection and respect.
