The Kankakee County Board has approved a solar panel farm in Essex, Illinois. This project will be located mostly in Essex &  Custer Park. It will consist of over 1,600 acres and be built by non American companies overseas.

This project will have a devastating impact on the environment, wildlife, agriculture and property values in this area. The land that has been selected for this project is prime agricultural land that has been farmed for many generations by hard working farmers who are struggling to make ends meet as it is! This land should not be used to produce solar energy when there are other areas available that would not have such an adverse impact on our environment and economy!

The noise from the panels themselves plus the fans needed to cool them will negatively affect our quality of life! There are also concerns about how these panels may affect our health due to emissions from them as well as possible electromagnetic fields they may produce. These fields can cause cell phone towers nearby to shut down or malfunction which could lead to more problems with communication during an emergency situation! We do not want this type of technology anywhere near us or our children!! We need your help today before it's too late!! Please sign & share today so we can stop this project before it starts!! I personally have created a beautiful life & home  overlooking 200 acres of beautiful farm land, and do not wish to change the landscape of my forever home that I've built and resided at for over 25 years.

There have been 99% rejection by the homeowners that live in this community and the Kankakee County Board heard our rejections, and voted unanimously to agree to this within 10 minutes of hearing the multiple rejections and opposing comments. They did NOT listen to any word that was said. The company that is pushing for the permits have not returned a single phone call, email or pleas from the community. They also are trying to push this through without notifying all home & land owners that will be affected. The neighbors living on couty line Road in Essex, that live directly accross the proposals, have NOT been notified, so our communty members are going door to door informing those affected. This is a travesty, when infact, they have other areas that wont affect the homeowners that they could build on, yet refuse to.
