Take 5 min to fill out COMMUNITY SURVEY

We are meeting as a community Wed 29th @6pm (@ Green) and with The Josephine on Thursday the 30th @6pm (@ The Josephine)

Your input will support those meetings!

Please fill out the survey by this evening - contact toijeancarter@gmail.com if you have problems accessing/entering your answers.

Here is more detail in case you are not on the email list:

A lot has been shaking.  We have the community survey rolling.  Since posting on FB and sharing with the Delechaise Neighborhood Association, over 65 people have responded - but most don't live within 3 blocks of the venue.  I want to ensure that everyone living closest (1-3 blocks) to the venue has a voice and that your concerns are being addressed.  Please take 5-15 minutes to fill this out.  Let me know if you are unable and I can get you a paper copy.

Also, if you have capacity, support a neighbor in filling it out.  It would be a great way to learn each other's opinion and support engagement on this issue.

As City Planning Commissioner Chair Katie Witry said in her comment to The Brennan's "I understand the impact and the traffic. It is going to be tough for all of the surrounding neighbors. I live close to a venue. I have seen the changes that have happened because of that and so I am trying to think forward and think what that looks like a year from now you know two years from now.”

MEETINGS

Please plan to attend these meetings:

Neighbors Meeting: Wednesday - April 29th @ Green School @ 6pm
Purpose: Review Survey results and strategy moving forward + learn about rebuilding Neighbors United Neighborhood Association. Continue to work to find common ground as neighbors.

Meeting with The Josephine; scheduled for April 30th @ The Josephine @ 6pm
Purpose: 1st of a series of meetings to talk through community feedback; see if there is common ground.

City Council Meeting: Currently scheduled for May 7th @ 10am; very likely will be moved to May 21st @ 10am
Purpose: Express our civic rights as people living near a proposed ordinance change.  Neighbor engagement - from people impacted by an ordinance change - is part of those rights. Pressure City Council to vote with neighbors opinions in mind and not just developers'.
Note: I have a verbal commitment from Michael Sherman to jointly ask CM Harris to move the City Council meeting to May 21st to allow us additional time to meet with The Josephine during a very busy season of the year for most people.
