Today I received a message from a gentleman advising me that Slim's monument on Eyre Highway has gone. Dale from TML confirmed he had gone to the site and yes it had been removed. Who would have done this and why? It was a site many truck drivers drove past daily and paid their respect to a legend. I like to think they believed Slim is watching over them on the journey to and from the west. I just hope the Yalata and Ceduna police can find the person or persons responsible. Chanel 7 want to help locate the monument also. If anyone knows anything please get in touch with the police.
