The Issue

Call to Action
Brookfield residents & housing providers are calling on the Village Board to reject all forms of the current Rental Registration Ordinance proposal that include inspections to respect tenant privacy & protect affordability.

Why We Are Opposed to the Current Proposal
The Village has proposed a new rental registration ordinance that includes annual fees, mandatory exterior and common-area inspections, and the authority for Village staff to enter occupied rental homes under vague “as-needed” criteria. This ordinance goes far beyond what Brookfield has shown to be necessary or justified.

WHAT WE ARE ASKING
On December 8th, 2025, we urge the Brookfield Village Board to:
Vote NO on any rental ordinance that includes inspections or government entry into rental homes.

SIGN THE PETITION IF YOU BELIEVE:
- Tenants deserve privacy and respect
- Housing should remain affordable
- Regulation should be based on real data, not assumptions
- Brookfield should enact smart, fair, minimal policy solutions
- The Village should not expand bureaucracy without a proven need
- Together, we can make sure Brookfield adopts a fair, evidence-based policy that protects renters, housing providers, and the community as a whole.
