5 Reasons We Are OPPOSED 

1. Fire Hazard in an already high-fire zone. When batteries ignite, they emit toxic gases known to cause health defects. Evacuation orders with only a two-lane ingress egress road will have residents gridlocked

2. Environmental Contamination: the suppression system, water run-off, gas emissions, and batteries (during decommissioning) present risk of environmental contamination to our water, the Escondido Creek, the soil, livestock, wildlife, the wetlands, our kids...

3. Rising insurance premiums. Most carriers are significantly increasing rates or cancelling policies. We can expect escalated rates or to be uninsurable.

4. Cyber Security and Terrorism: The DOJ indicates that cyber security is on the rise, and a BESS of this scale is a prime target.

5. Harmony with the Community - This facility will be surrounded by a 12 foot concrete block wall, will emit a constant buzzing noise and light in a dark skies community. The buzzing noise is known to create anxiety and sleep deprivation in humans and animals.
