The Elfin Forest Town Council has agreed to earmark 50% of proceeds from the Keepin' It Rural 5K 10K event towards opposing the Seguro Battery Project. The other 50% will be donated to the Escondido Creek Conservancy which preserves open space and wildlife in our area.
The 8th Annual Keepin’ it Rural 5k 10k trail run / hike was started eight years ago to help fund conservation efforts and to protect the communities of Harmony Grove, Eden Valley and Elfin Forest from outside interests, seeking to profit from the community. It is hosted by volunteers from all three communities and is an event you do not want to miss. In addition to, competitive chip-timed 5k and 10k race events, there is: a leisurely hike, a tot trot, live reggae band, local craft beer garden and food trucks.
Please join us on December 3rd by registering or volunteering for the event. All proceeds go to these two great causes.
