Orsted and Eversource are developing an offshore wind farm that will ultimately deliver power to the Cove Hollow substation in East Hampton. Their preferred landing spot is Beach Lane in Wainscott (4.1 onshore miles), but they are now considering landing in Hither Hills (11.9 onshore miles). The Hither Hills route would cause significant disruption across three hamlets (Montauk, Amagansett and East Hampton), impacting thousands of residents and visitors, local businesses and State Parkland.

We are opposed to this route for obvious reasons, and support the landing site that is preferred by the project developers following extensive research, planning and community outreach.

With regards to the project itself, we know that some of our local fisherman have raised concerns and we take those very seriously. We stand with them and we will work to see that an agreement isreached prior to the project moving forward.
