Dark Hollow is treasured by their residents, holding a unique history and vibrant community. Nonetheless, we are currently facing a concern that could largely impact our way of life and the health of our local ecosystem: a proposition to introduce a slaughterhouse into our community. A slaughterhouse is not merely an industrial facility but a potential source of environmental disturbance. It often brings hidden environmental impacts such as water and air pollution. These facilities use up massive volumes of water each day and release pollutants into our water bodies. Furthermore, the odor from these establishments can disturb residential life. Traffic is also anticipated to increase drastically, bringing additional noise pollution and congestion. Statistics show that such establishments cause a 56% increase in traffic volume and 74% of residents report bothering odor issues (source: Environmental Research Journal). Such concerns are not suitable for living conditions and we sternly oppose the establishment of such a facility in Dark Hollow. Let us join together to preserve the essence of our community and protect them from under minded industrial decisions.
