The $750 COVID_19 Bonus should be paid to EVERYONE
The issue
The 750 should be paid to EVERYONE even workers!
Our Essential workers are out there slogging their guts out, putting their lives on the line. Without them there would be no food production, no food on the shelves, and definitely no health care provided to anyone that does get sick from this!
It should be paid immediately to them in the roll out of payments to all those that are currently getting it due to their entitlements.
If not, then it could easily be paid this way:
(The Tax office can easily do this by giving it at tax time)
call it the ATO COVID 750. and make it an automatic Tax deduction.
This bonus of 750 is to give everyone the boost to buy essential items to clean, and buy safety products etc for themselves and their families and is in my opinion worth it and much needed by EVERY single Australian including children.
It is called an ESSENTIAL COVID payment after all, and it should only be spent on doing that, or extra food due to supermarkets cashing in on this pandemic. To those doing that I hope you get caught!
$750 for every single person in Australia, simple as that!
As for this extra $550 a fortnight for unemployed and single parents, I truly think that there needs to be more research made, in the field of entitled recipients and payments made according to their personal circumstances.
It is about economic losses and people adjusting to life on less income after losing their jobs due to the drop in employment opportunities, this incredibly disgusting disease, and also the increased cost of living that will come with this pandemic.
Self funded retirees and others that are not eligible for whatever reason should be paid this money too along with those that care for children who are not biologically their children (Foster/Kinship Carers) Aged Pensioners (who are always the ones left struggling), Widows pension, Carers Payment/Allowance, Disability Pensioners and their Carers.
