NO HOTEL AND ZONING CHANGE IN THE SANTA MONICA MOUNTAINS

We strongly oppose the proposed hotel in Benedict Canyon. The project is inappropriate for the protected greenbelt of the Santa Monica Mountains, and it is inappropriate for the surrounding community.
This hotel and its accompanying zone change would destroy precious open space that is a natural habitat for endangered wildlife and protected trees. The project would permanently open the door for a tidal wave of invasive development that would decimate the greenbelt that runs through our canyons.
We urge Mayor Eric Garcetti, Councilmembers Paul Koretz, David Ryu and Mike Bonin, and the director of the Department of Planning to stand against this project. Protect the character and integrity of the Santa Monica Mountains for future generations.
