Stop the Harmful Effects of Fireworks on Pets

The Issue

During the past holidays, my dog Broony's reaction to fireworks was much stronger than in previous years. It was extremely traumatic to witness him trembling and experiencing severe fatigue. His anxiety levels were highly altered, leaving me deeply concerned for his well-being. Also wildlife as well and military vets also feel the PTSD effects of fireworks. The government for each county must select a recreation park or a coliseum so that people who like fireworks can use them. Through this way, fireworks accidents could be minimized since the government would have police and ambulance surveillance in case of emergency.

Fireworks have become a common part of celebrations worldwide, but we often overlook the detrimental impact they have on our beloved pets, wildlife, veterans with PTSD and other illness , The  consequences can be devastating, ranging from anxiety and stress to serious physical harm or even death. It is crucial that we address this issue and take action to protect our furry friends.

According to numerous studies and reports, dogs are particularly vulnerable to the harmful effects of fireworks. It is estimated that between 30% and 40% of dogs suffer from firework-related distress. This distress can lead to various complications such as psychological trauma or even cardiac arrest due to their heightened sensitivity towards loud noises.

The sensitive hearing abilities of dogs make them more susceptible than humans when it comes to loud sounds like fireworks explosions. The noise generated by these pyrotechnic displays can reach decibel levels far beyond what is considered safe for both human and animal ears.

We cannot ignore the fact that our pets rely on us for their safety and well-being. As responsible pet owners, it is our duty to advocate for their protection against unnecessary harm caused by fireworks displays.

Therefore, I urge you all to support this petition calling upon local authorities, event organizers, and communities at large:

1) Implement stricter regulations regarding the use of fireworks near residential areas or places where pets are present.
2) Encourage alternative forms of celebration that do not involve loud explosions or bright lights.
3) Promote public awareness campaigns highlighting the dangers posed by fireworks on pets' mental health and physical well-being.
4) Provide resources such as designated quiet zones or shelters during firework displays where pet owners can take their animals to ensure their safety and comfort.

By signing this petition, we are not only advocating for the well-being of our own pets but also for the countless other animals who suffer silently during fireworks displays. Let us come together as a community to protect our furry companions and create a safer environment for them during celebrations.

Together, we can make a difference and ensure that no more innocent lives are lost or harmed due to the detrimental effects of fireworks on our beloved pets. Sign this petition today and let your voice be heard!

Thank you for your support.
