I am a resident of Los Feliz, Los Angeles who relies on Hollywood Blvd for my daily commute to work and taking my children to school. The proposed plan to reduce traffic lanes from 4 to 2 on this vital artery will have a significant impact on my life and those of many others in our community. As acknowledged by the head of transport for Nithya Raman, this change could result in a "carmageddon", increasing daily commutes by up to 10 minutes over just 2 miles. Over the next decade, that's an additional two months spent sitting in traffic - time that could be better spent with family or at work.

In addition to creating longer commutes, this proposal will eliminate hundreds of parking spots and fail to address the increased traffic dangers and inconvenience on Franklin and Sunset. It does little for public safety while significantly disrupting lives.

We must consider these impacts when deciding whether such changes are truly beneficial for our community. We urge city officials not only to reconsider this proposal but also involve us more directly in decisions about our transportation infrastructure.
