The Issue

Once again, we’re staring down the possibility of a government shutdown, and once again, millions of Americans are left wondering how this will impact their lives. If Congress doesn’t act before March 14, federal workers will go without pay, essential services will be disrupted, and families across the country will be forced to deal with the consequences of political inaction.

We’ve been through this before, and it’s always everyday people who suffer the most. Federal employees will be forced to work without pay or be sent home without knowing when they’ll be back. Food inspections, tax services, and federal health programs could come to a halt. National parks may close, leaving visitors stranded and sites neglected. Air travel could face delays as TSA and air traffic controllers struggle with understaffing. Meanwhile, members of Congress will continue collecting their paychecks while failing to do the one thing they’re supposed to: keep the government running.

This cycle of uncertainty and last-minute scrambling has to end. The American people deserve a functioning government, not constant threats of shutdowns that put workers, families, and communities at risk. Congress needs to pass a funding bill now—not when it’s too late, not after thousands have already been impacted, but now.

Sign this petition to demand action. Tell lawmakers to stop the political games and do their job. We can’t afford another shutdown.
