The Issue

I am deeply disturbed by the ongoing genocide against the Amhara people in Ethiopia, and I cannot stand idly by while our brothers and sisters are being subjected to violence and brutality. This issue is personal to me because so many lives have been lost, families shattered, and communities destroyed simply due to their ethnic background.

In recent years, there have been increasing reports of ethnically motivated attacks against the Amhara people. The atrocities include killings, displacement, and the destruction of properties. According to Human Rights Watch and other reputable organizations, these acts have left thousands dead and many more homeless. The situation is dire, with humanitarian conditions worsening by the day.

This petition calls on the international community, including the United Nations, African Union, and other influential bodies, to intervene immediately. It's imperative that the Ethiopian government is held accountable for failing to protect its citizens and that international monitors are deployed to ensure the safety and security of the Amhara people.

Moreover, the government should work with civil society to initiate sincere efforts toward reconciliation and peacebuilding. Educational campaigns promoting tolerance and coexistence can play a vital role in healing the ethnic divide.

We cannot afford to stay silent while such a tragedy unfolds. By signing this petition, you join a global movement to end the suffering of the Amhara people and bring peace to this region. Together, we can urge those in power to take decisive and immediate action to stop this cycle of violence and human rights abuses. Please sign and share this petition to amplify our voice and pave the way for justice and peace in Ethiopia.
