Sep 26, 2017
-- More information regarding the important Quiet Skies meeting from Congressmember Karen Bass: “As many of you continue to battle excessive airplane noise and pollution, I hope you will join me and special guests LA City Council President Herb Wesson and Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson at my event to discuss strategies we are pursuing to tackle these issues. This next Quiet Skies meeting will take place on Saturday morning, October 7, 2017 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. If you have visited my website or been in touch with my office about this issue, I hope you have seen the legislative and other actions that I have been working on to try and address the recent FAA changes to flight paths that created a heavy-traffic highway-in-the-sky. At this meeting, I, along with my guests, will provide you with the most-up-to date information about legislation and other efforts to address the low altitudes, unrelenting frequency, late night flights and other issues that are plaguing neighborhoods in my district. My guests and I will also look forward to learning more about how these issues are affecting your lives and about your own organizing efforts to advocate for changes."
