Stop the Expansion of Whites-Only Settlements in the U.S.
The Issue
A group of white supremacists in Arkansas has built a self-declared whites-only compound called “Return to the Land” (RTTL). It bans Jews, LGBTQ people, non-European faiths, and anyone who doesn’t meet their white Christian “membership criteria.”
The founders say this is just the beginning.
According to Sky News, the community has already built cabins, roads, fences, a schoolhouse, and a member vetting process based on race and ancestry. Dozens live there now—and hundreds more have bought in from around the world. RTTL’s leaders say their goal is to create more whites-only towns across the U.S.
They’re doing it by claiming to operate as a “Private Members Association” and using LLC shares to sell land in a way they believe exempts them from civil rights law. But legal experts and civil rights groups say this strategy is likely illegal—and deeply dangerous.
One of the founders called the compound a “fortress for the white race” and invoked Nazi ideology as a guiding force. RTTL’s public channels are filled with hate symbols and white nationalist slogans. Some of its members are reportedly current or former law enforcement.
This isn’t just talk. It’s organized, expanding, and openly hostile to the values of equality, inclusion, and the rule of law.
We’re calling on the U.S. Department of Justice, HUD, and the Arkansas Attorney General to stop the spread of whites-only communities like RTTL by launching a full civil rights investigation, blocking further land expansion, and holding those responsible accountable under federal law.
If allowed to grow unchecked, this won’t stay in Arkansas. Add your name to say: We will not allow whites-only towns to spread across America.
