The PA Senate Game & Fisheries Committee voted to pass Senate Bill 67 to the Senate floor for a vote that would allow hunting on Sundays in public recreational areas.

If Sunday hunting is to occur throughout the entire hunting season (approx. Sept through April), it will be unsafe for bikers, hikers, birders, walkers, horseback riders, and all others to enjoy the outdoors in parks, forests, and fields.

Perhaps it would be far more equitable to allow the hunters to engage in Sunday hunting on the dedicated state game lands where they have the exclusive right. This would allow all other recreational uses in the other parks and public places without having to be concerned about Sunday hunters.

As trail-riding equestrians, safe areas are severely limited where we do not need to be afraid of an errant bullet or arrow coming at us while riding our horses. The same is true for all outdoor enthusiasts.

Six days of the week should be sufficient for those who hunt.

Please support us in petitioning the PA Senate to vote NO on SB-67, giving us one day a week when we can enjoy the outdoors without fear of being shot.
