Now they are aiming to do Upzoning State-Wide.
Moe Maestas has submitted SB-0131 which essentially upzones the entire state and essentially takes zoning powers away from local towns and cities.

Next is HB-0103 introduced by Cristina Parajon, which would allow rezoning to happen without losing the 3% tax protection.

HOWEVER the impact study states that it will leave interpretation of use broadly up to local assessors and it needs further definition to prevent wrongful reassessment.

Because they foresee a loss of upzoning at the City Level they are taking it above in the hopes no one notices among the shuffle of a 30 day session.
