Stop the Eviction of the Local Football and Tennis Club from North Acton Playing Fields

Stop the Eviction of the Local Football and Tennis Club from North Acton Playing Fields
The Issue
Summary:
We call upon Ealing Council to reverse its decision to evict Football Samurai Academy and affiliated tennis activities from North Acton Playing Fields — a decision that threatens vital, long-standing community sports and youth services.
Details:
For over 12 years, Football Samurai Academy has provided inclusive, grassroots sports programme to the local community — reaching more than 240 children through football and 120 through tennis, from over 25 nationalities. Our activities promote not just fitness, but also inclusion, education, and social cohesion.
We have built strong partnerships with local schools, hosted widely attended community events, and worked tirelessly to create a safe, supportive environment for Ealing and Acton's young people.
In 2017, Ealing Council issued a decision letter expressing support for a lease extension through 2043 — an agreement later followed up with signed Heads of Terms and a draft lease in 2024.
Based on these assurances, we invested over £150,000 into significant improvements to the site — including the construction of a 3G pitch and building refurbishment — with a clear long-term vision of continuing to serve the local community.
Despite this, on March 25, 2025, we received an eviction notice without prior consultation or justification, threatening to dismantle years of community development and trust.
We ask Ealing Council to:
- Immediately rescind the eviction notice issued on March 25, 2025
- Honor the previously indicated lease extension through 2043 and finalize the formal agreement
- Engage in open, transparent dialogue with Football Samurai Academy and associated programmes to collaboratively support local youth development
Why It Matters:
Evicting a trusted, long-serving organisation without clear cause or community consultation not only disrupts hundreds of families and children — it undermines years of public-private cooperation and community investment. We urge Ealing Council to do the right thing and work with us, not against us, for the benefit of future generations.
What we ask you:
Sign this petition to demand that Ealing Council reverses its eviction decision and supports the continuance of these invaluable community services.
By signing, you take a stand for cooperation, community investment, and the future of North Acton's youth.
