We are asking the Heritage Plantation HOA in Madison, Alabama to stop any plan to euthanize the geese in the neighborhood.

There are many humane, non-lethal ways to manage geese populations that should be considered first. These include egg addling to prevent overpopulation, habitat changes like adding shoreline vegetation and reducing short grass areas, motion-activated deterrents such as sprinklers or lights, and humane hazing programs using trained dogs. Communities can also reduce attraction to geese by discouraging feeding and adjusting landscaping so the area is less inviting for nesting and grazing.

This petition is open to everyone, not just residents. We’re asking the HOA to pause, listen to community concerns, and choose a more humane approach before making any lethal decision.
