I have dedicated my life to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals. My passion for this cause stems from a lifetime of raising and rescuing animals. Currently, I run a rescue where many of the animals that find their way to me would have been euthanized in shelters due to behavioral issues - issues that with time and patience can be corrected.

It is heartbreaking to know that every year in the United States alone, approximately 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized (670,000 dogs and 860,000 cats) according to the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). This number does not even account for those who are put down due to perceived 'unmanageable' behavior.

We need your help now more than ever. It's time we urge our local governments and animal welfare organizations across the country to implement no-kill policies in shelters. We must advocate for better training programs aimed at correcting behavioral problems rather than resorting immediately to euthanasia.
