Are you aware of the Maltby Pit Tip planning application that could have huge potential environmental issues? Probably not, yet the deadline for objections to the proposals closes in January 2025.

The project specifies that approximately 300,000 tonnes of fill per year will be imported by HGV, for a total of 9 years, until September 2033.

This would create 128 HGV movements per working day (Monday to Saturday) between the hours of 7AM and 7PM. Pumping may also be required on a 24 hour basis for the entire duration of the proposed development.

Action for Maltby believes this plan has severe consequences for our town and its residents.

The aim of this petition is to force Rotherham council to see the number of objections from local residents and decline planning permission.
