540 houses in between two protected ancient commons will spell disaster for the existing flora & fauna (Pipistrelle bats, Great Crested Newts, Barn owls, Muntjac deer and a variety of orchids to name a few). 1800 new inhabitants will put an unsustainable pressure on the commons.

1100 extra cars will destroy our carbon footprint and clog up neighbouring roads and bypass. It will obviously have an adverse effect on existing highway safety.

The development will be overbearing, out of character in terms of appearance, a source of noise & light pollution. We shall lose good agricultural land and fine views of Soham. With no vehicular access to Soham’s high street, this isolated community will fail to support our ailing retail outlets within the town.
