Just stop it. Duke has used subterfuge to hide this project form the various commissions that regulate it and then ambushed the public in both NC and SC. What was said in the past few years about putting lipstick on a pig? "Modernization" is hardly the word for what this conglomerate has in mind. Announcing this project and acting like it's a done deal. Buying 20 acres of land in Campobello SC 'under the radar' through a subsidiary ---at megabucks over the going rate for acreage in this area Saying they 'didn't know they were going to do this project' last Fall although the land purchased was surveyed 12 days after Duke issued it's IFP to regulators AND NEVER MENTIONED IT. Now they're saying they didn't decide to run with this project until after they closed on the land purchase this past Spring....??!!1 So who out there is going to trust this company to manage a construction project of this magnitude when they did no planning or research about the affected area...apparently someone woke up one day and said "HEY, LET'S PUT ON A SHOW!!" and like Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland in those movies from the 1940s they enthusiastically tried to convince everyone this is a good idea. This company is a convicted polluter. This company did NO research, instead told home and land owners to put together the data themselves of areas/flora/fauna/agriculture, etc etc that will be impacted by their plans...and, oh yeah, go ahead and upload that data to Duke's website -- sure save them a lot of money and time. Who else out there is completely disgusted with this ridiculous method of project planning and management? As I said during the SC PSC meeting - either they are really, really smart or really, really stupid. What's your best guess? I know all of us can see through these attempts to bamboozle us with lack of facts, generalities, platitudes and their presumption of authority to move forward at their whim. STOP DUKE ENERGY.
