The horrible impacts of offshore oil and gas development are undeniable.

The Gulf is still recovering from the 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill disaster. That event led to 11 people losing their lives, many dolphins dying of oil-induced lung lesions, and coastal communities suffering untold economic calamity.

Yet if we don't speak up, such a catastrophe could be repeated in the United States Atlantic and Arctic oceans for the first time.

We must protect our oceans, wildlife and communities before it's too late. Shell finally realized that drilling in the Arctic Ocean is a BAD idea and abandoned its efforts indefinitely. On the East Coast, more than 75 communities have officially announced their opposition to drilling off their coasts.
