Stop the Development of Mulberry Park and The Tabernacle on 13 Mile

Stop the Development of Mulberry Park and The Tabernacle on 13 Mile

The Issue

The purpose of this petition is to stop the developments proposed for Mulberry Park and The Tabernacle on 13 Mile, west of Middlebelt, as they threaten to scathe our environment and disturb our peaceful life.

There is a City Council meeting set for January 13th at 7:30pm at the Farmington Hills City Hall to determine if the project will go through.

This plan proposes 76 total units (17 total buildings) including 40 two-story townhome units and 36 ranch units for 55+ year olds. The developers would also be cutting down 361 trees to fill the area with buildings. A single exit for the development would be directly across from the exit of Westgate Neighborhood on 13 Mile.

We strongly oppose this project for many reasons including:

  • Extreme tree removal
  • Loss of wildlife habitat
  • Loss of privacy
  • Drainage issues
  • Traffic concerns on 13 Mile
  • Construction noise for multiple years
  • Decrease in Holly Hill Farms property and surrounding neighborhood values

We request that our elected officials reconsider these developments, taking into account the potential environmental impact, the displacement of wildlife, increased noise pollution, and non-compliance with ADA standards. We need development plans that enhance, not decrease, our community's quality of life. Please stand up for our community's wellbeing and future. Sign this petition!
