Stop the Development of Michigan’s Sand Dunes
Recently, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) approved a permit to pave a two-mile long road through critical sand dunes along one of the most pristine stretches of Lake Michigan shoreline, just outside of Saugatuck. The permit will pave the way for a multi-million dollar housing development, a condominium complex and a new marina, all atop fragile sand dunes, adjacent to vulnerable wetlands, and in view of Lake Michigan.
We need your support to demand that Governor Snyder step in to right this wrong.

The Michigan DEQ’s decision to approve a permit for a paved road, which will lead to a subdivision of multi-million dollar homes, a condominium complex and a marina, will permanently damage an incredibly fragile landscape. Critical dunes are called “critical” because they are the most vulnerable stretches of sand dunes in the state.
Stand up to right this wrong and stop the development of Michigan's vulnerable sand dunes.
