STOP The Destruction Of Southill Fields Weymouth Dorset
The Issue
🚨 SAVE SOUTHILL FIELDS, WEYMOUTH 🚨
Southill Fields is more than just open land – it is a vital green space at the heart of our community.
For generations, these beautiful fields and the historic spinney on Radipole Lane have provided a place where families walk, children play, dog owners exercise their pets, horse riders enjoy the countryside, and people of all ages can experience nature on their doorstep.
Now this treasured landscape faces destruction.
Plans have been submitted to build 350 houses across two of the three fields, permanently replacing wildlife habitat and open countryside with concrete and roads.
Southill Fields is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including buzzards, kestrels, deer, foxes, badgers, slow worms, lizards, dormice, and countless other species that depend on this land for survival.
Once these habitats are destroyed, they cannot simply be replaced.
This is not an empty piece of land waiting for development. It is a living, breathing environment that supports wildlife, improves physical and mental wellbeing, and provides a much-needed green escape for local residents.
We believe future generations deserve the chance to enjoy Southill Fields just as we do today.
We urge Dorset's planning decision-makers to reject this proposal and protect Southill Fields from irreversible damage.
💚 Please sign and share this petition.
Every signature sends a clear message: Southill Fields matters. Our wildlife matters. Our community matters.
Together, we can protect this precious landscape before it is lost forever.
We have a go fund open to hire professionals to help with this
