The historic centre of Birkirkara is threatened with the proposal for the buidiling of a new hotel instead of one of the few remaining gardens in the village core (PA/04850/23).  The Palazzo and its garden hold a rich history and must be protected.

We, the undersigned, object to the proposal in front of the Planning Authority and appeal for its refusal.

Furthermore, we encourage Government to start procuring the last remaining gardens in Malta's village cores and opening them up to the public.  While it is positive to hear about the increased efforts to mitigate climate change, we must move on to concrete action, with a clear and strong signal in our localities and the preservation of the last few green spaces  available.
