Dear Supporters
It fills me with great joy to share with you that our collective efforts have suceeded in getting Twane off the deportation charter flight to Jamaica through an injunction in the courts. This is great news and as you can imagine such a relief to Twane and his family.
Twane's partner Kirsty finished work today and was just starting on a heartbreaking long drive to London to take her 2 and 4 year old daughters to say goodbye to their dad in case this was the last time they saw him.
I have just got off the phone from Kirsty and in the background I could hear their two little daughters literally screaming with joy.
Kirsty asked me to let you know that she thinks you are all amazing and you have literally made a little girl's dream come true. She wanted me to also share her thanks here to the whole campaign team.
I have also spoken to Tenisha who thanks you so much. Twane is overwhelmed by the support too. He is so relieved.
A psychiatrist has assessed Twane in detention and says he is not fit or well enough to be detained (which continues during a deportation flight). So we are now working for bail to be granted so Twane can be released from Colnbrook and get back home to his family.
This of course is not the end of the campaign because Twane should be a British citizen, something he was entitled to for serving in the British Army so please stay with us on this campaign and we will keep you updated.
Thank you all for standing with us.
Best Regards
Zita
