As Refugee Week begins under the theme “Community as a Superpower,” we’re reminded just how true that is.
We started this week on edge, emotions running high, and they still are. We are deeply worried about Fatou’s wellbeing. But thanks to you, the urgent legal work by her solicitors, and the generous financial support from so many, Fatou remains with us today.
By stopping Fatou’s deportation yesterday, together we are victorious.
This is People Power in action. And we cannot thank you enough.
But the fight is far from over.
We are angry, angry at the Home Office’s ongoing mental and emotional cruelty. Fatou has been treated in ways no one should be treated. As she has said herself, “This is not just about me , it’s about all the women locked up inside this broken, unjust system.”
We will not give up. Not for Fatou, and not for the many others still detained.
Please:

And if you can, support Fatou’s family during this difficult time:
Community is our power. Let’s keep using it.
