Hi everyone,
Ken is extremely grateful to all of you for your help and support. Unfortunately, Ken is still being held in the detention centre and we have not yet heard exactly when he will be released - we hope this will be soon. However if and when this occurs, he would still be subject to deportation by the Home Office because he has not been granted asylum here in the UK, and he could be returned to the detention centre again at any time.
In order to prevent Ken's deportation to Kenya, where he would face homophobic persecution, we need to have his asylum approved here in the UK. This will secure his safety, allow him be with his mother and our local community, and allow him to continue to contribute to our society.
So far, over £2,500 has been raised by those supporting Ken, which is a fantastic start. However, we need your help to reach our target of £8,000. All of the money received will go towards the cost of legal advice and support in Ken's case. If we are lucky enough to raise more than is necessary, the remainder will go to a group of Ken's choosing.
Thank you for all of your help and support, please continue to donate to support Ken with his legal fees, and keep up the campaigning on Ken's behalf. Together, we can make a real difference and keep Ken safe here in the UK, where he belongs.
Best wishes,
Andrew
