The Issue

Arjeta is a much-loved woman in our Liverpool community, known for her warmth, humour, and strength.

Originally from Albania, she survived modern-day slavery after being trafficked to the UK. For three years, she lived under the control of a criminal gang, a nightmare no one should ever endure.

When she was rescued by the UK police, she said:

"It was the first time in 3years, I felt safe"

Arjeta slowly began to rebuild her life. She became part of the 4Wings women’s community, sharing her story to support others. She played with Everton Women’s Walking Football and danced with Movema, bringing joy and inspiration wherever she went.

Detained Again

This is the second time Arjeta has been detained by the Home Office.
The first time, after public outcry and campaigning, she was released, but she was never the same again.

In one of her talks, Arjeta shared how it felt inside:

"We were caged like criminals"

That first experience left her deeply traumatised and struggling with her mental health.
She continued to seek counselling and tried to rebuild her confidence.

But on 1 October 2025, Arjeta was detained again, taken from her community, her counsellor, and her support networks.
We are now deeply worried about her health and mental wellbeing.

Arjeta faces deportation back to Albania, where the same gang that trafficked her is still active.
If she is sent back, her life will be in danger.

No survivor should ever be locked up or returned to their abusers.
Detention retraumatises survivors and destroys the healing they fought so hard to achieve.

We call on the Home Office to release Arjeta immediately and let her continue her asylum process safely, surrounded by her community in Liverpool.
