The Issue

I've been frequenting C2, the coziest spot in Carrollton, just shy of a decade and even moved to Downtown Carrollton this year. To me, and many others, C2 is more than just a cafe; it's a cornerstone of our community. The charm and warmth of this place are encapsulated in the beautiful  staircase of the Oldfield Building, which now faces the threat of demolition.

The new owner of the building plans to demolish this beloved piece of our town's architecture. This staircase is not just an everyday structure; it embodies the intentionality and care that has shaped Carrollton into the town we love. Its design has been the focal point of many gatherings, connecting us and enhancing the character of our town.

Removing the staircase means stripping away a part of what makes Carrollton unique and inviting. It could make our town one step closer to becoming just another cold, impersonal place rather than the vibrant and warm community we cherish.

I urge you to join me in preserving the uniqueness and the charm of Carrollton. Let us present a unified voice to the building's new owner and city officials, emphasizing the importance of our shared appreciation and the need to maintain the elements that make our community special.

Please, consider signing this petition to stop the planned demolition of the beloved staircase in the Oldfield Building. Together, we can help keep Carrollton the warm and welcoming town it has always been.
