The Issue

The residents of Apple Valley California living between Bear Valley Rd. and Del Oro Rd., and the streets up and down Deep Creek Rd. will be affected by the building of 99 homes on only 120 acres of land. The build proposed by Mark Maida and Steeno Design Studios to change the existing land from Residential Agriculture to Estate Residential abruptly changes the way of life of current homeowners and critters in the area.

The land surrounding the proposed building is Residential Agricultural and Low-Density Residential, just as the land proposed in this development should remain. The desert spaces in Apple Valley add to our unique ecosystem that should remain open and scenic where possible. Open spaces are habitats for plants and animals that call the desert home. Desert wildlife is vulnerable to ecological changes.

The biological productivity in the area needs to remain subtle so that pollution from buildings, residents, lights, and noise does not change the ecosystem in which coyotes, tortoises, cottontails, Joshua Trees, and others are currently seen on a regular basis. Responsible agriculture and management of limited water resources need to be prioritized.

Stop this build from changing our agricultural and low-residential way of life.
