To our 2,800+ petition signers:
INFORMATION FOR THIS EVENING:
Address:
Council Chambers
751 Laurel St., Menlo Park
(If Laurel St. parking lots are full, use the library parking on Alma St.)
Schedule:
5:30 – Arrive for pictures
6:00 – Council meeting begins
~6:30 – Item H1: Staff Presentation followed by public comment
Later – Council deliberations and vote
Zoom.us/join – ID# 832 1285 7140
(If using Zoom, consider adding a phrase before your name which indicates your position, like AMEND IT – Jane Doe; SAVE MENLO – John Doe, etc. )
We’d like as many people as possible to arrive at 5:30pm so we can take pictures and demonstrate our numbers. Bring a sign, or grab one when you arrive.
Stay for the meeting if you can. Or leave and come back - you can keep the Zoom meeting going on your phone so you know when to return.
Please speak to voice your opinion. Something very short is fine. To speak, fill out a card on the tables at the entrance or follow. Or on Zoom, press *9 to raise hand.
The general focus of our comments should be on why the downtown parking lots are a bad location for housing. It will also be helpful to mention other sites you think would be better, like the Civic Center.
Throughout the night, be respectful and do not react negatively to any speakers. And if Council asks us not to clap, then don’t clap.
It’s possible that some people will need to stand outside. If you are willing to be one of those folks, bring warm clothes.
If you plan to stay for the duration, bring snacks!
Tonight is going to be an interesting, educational, and perhaps once-in-a-lifetime, experience. You (and your kids) won’t want to miss this.
