We are asking all of our supporters to contact your local Fort Worth City Council Member and let them know you oppose the proposed Black Mountain data center project in Fort Worth, case ZC-25-205. If you don’t live in Fort Worth, contact our City Councilman Chris Nettles (District 8) or Fort Worth Mayor Parker.

While this project may be located in District 8, its impact will reach far beyond district lines. Approving this development opens the door for additional data centers throughout our city, setting a precedent that will affect all of us. The city has already rezoned 450 acres and now Black Mountain is asking for another 38 acres directly south of our Historic Gardens. Case ZC-25-205.

These facilities bring significant concerns, including increased air and noise pollution, potential health impacts for residents within a five-mile radius, large-scale land clearing that disrupts wildlife habitats, and long-term damage to our community’s quality of life. Once these developments begin, the effects cannot easily be undone.

These data centers use large quantities of water, and most cities/towns within Tarrant County purchase their water from the city of Fort Worth. So, even if you don’t live in District 8, this decision has a significant impact on everyone living in Tarrant County.

We have spent our entire career in the garden business educating and selling native plants, with the goal of conserving water. There is not enough water available to service all of the existing and proposed data centers in North Texas.

We will be speaking before the Fort Worth City Council on Tuesday, March 10th at 6:00 PM opposing case ZC-25-205. We encourage you to attend and stand with us in green to show your support. If you feel called to speak, you may sign up to do so — but most importantly, we need strong community presence. Numbers matter.

Our business has been here for 42 years, and the gardens have existed for more than 100 years. We are asking you to help us protect our wildlife, our plants, our neighbors, and our shared quality of life.
Thank you for standing with us in this effort. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at 817-572-0549 or weston@westongardens.com
