The Issue

Living in Robeson Township is a dream come true for the residents that reside here. Known for its lush greenery, abundant wildlife, and peaceful ambiance. However, this tranquility is now under threat as the Robeson Township Supervisor Board is considering a proposal by Grande Construction to convert 325 acres of this natural paradise into a massive data center. The 325 acres is currently zoned for a residential development but now Grande Construction is looking to the township for a rezoning of the property to be able to build such data center.

Robeson Township, located in southeastern Pennsylvania, is a sanctuary of rich biodiversity, hosting a diverse array of local flora and fauna. This area is not just a collection of trees and wildlife, it's an ecosystem that supports a fragile balance. Construction on this scale threatens to disrupt that balance permanently. Statistics show that data centers require vast amounts of energy and water, often leading to ecological damage. The heat generated demands substantial water usage for cooling as well as a large risk and demand on local fire departments to handle large electrical fires if and when a fire breaks out.

The proposed development will not only lead to the loss of precious habitat but also bring about noise pollution, increased traffic, and potential hazards to local wildlife. The construction phase itself will destroy sections of forest that are currently home to countless species. We need to present our case to the Robeson Township Supervisor Board and demonstrate our collective will to preserve the precious environment of our community. By joining together, we can advocate for responsible development that respects the ecological significance and unique character of our township.

Sign this petition to urge the Robeson Township Supervisor Board to reject the data center proposal by Grande Construction and to not allow the rezoning needed to build such data center.
