47 Formal Objections Lodged – But We Need More!
Thank you to everyone who has already signed and shared the petition we’ve now smashed past 500 signatures!
Your support is making a real difference and helping to shine a spotlight on this issue.
Even better news: 47 formal objections have now been officially lodged with Blackpool Council’s planning department against the rock groynes (planning application 26/0084).
The RNLI has also submitted a strong formal objection, warning that the safety risks to the public especially children and tourists cannot be adequately mitigated.
However, petition signatures alone do not count as formal objections to the planning application. Only official objections submitted through Blackpool Council’s planning portal are formally considered by the decision-makers.
If you have already signed this petition, please take 2 minutes to also lodge a formal objection. It really does make a difference.
How to object:
1. Go to the Blackpool Council planning portal:
https://idoxpa.blackpool.gov.uk/online-applications/
2. Search for application reference: 26/0084
3. Click on the application and submit your comments/objection (you can copy points from this petition or write in your own words).
You can also email your objection to: planning@blackpool.gov.uk (quote reference 26/0084).
Every single formal objection strengthens our case and shows the strength of local feeling against these dangerous rock groynes that threaten to ruin Blackpool’s famous golden beach.
Please share this update with anyone who has signed and ask them to object too. The more official objections we have, the harder it becomes for the council to ignore us.
Thank you again for standing up for Blackpool beach. Together we can protect it.
