' THANK YOU FOR SIGNING! We have recently surpassed 250 signatures, and the petition is still growing ( currently over 320 )! THANK YOU! Your support is so much appreciated. People power is an amazing thing when we all group together to make our voices heard in opposition against a controversial, dangerous and destructive proposal. BUT THERE IS STILL MORE THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE, and this is where YOU can help.

Blackpool Council's 'Rock Groyne' sea defence proposal is a highly flawed one, and should not be rushed through without first analysing the risks of their idea, as well as explore other options. There are also due process concerns which have already been raised, and we will try to push for action taken in committee to address them,

If you have already lodged your objections to the council then THANK YOU SO MUCH. It is truly invaluable to ensure the council hears our gripes against their proposal, and they can't do that unless we submit them directly to Blackpool council's planning team.
But if you haven't done so already, then we have a tight timeframe where you can tell the council of your objections. WE HAVE UNTIL TUE 2ND JUNE 2026TO DO SO.
SO TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE TO ACT NOW, WHILST THERE ARE ONLY A FEW DAYS LEFT.

If you've never lodged an objection before and unsure of how to frame your arguments, don't worry. WE CAN ASSIST on providing for you, a list of good simply worded arguments as an example of how to effectively fight this battle.

Need help writing an objection? Keep it short and simple — every objection counts.
You can copy/adapt points like these:
• The RNLI says the safety risks “cannot be adequately mitigated”.
• The rock groynes will permanently damage Blackpool’s famous sandy beach.
• Families and children will climb on the rocks, creating safety dangers.
• Blackpool’s tourism depends on an open, safe family beach.
• Softer alternatives like beach nourishment should be used instead.
• The scheme will industrialise the coastline and harm the beach’s character.
• Public safety should come before cost-saving engineering solutions.
• The Environmental Statement does not properly address recreational safety risks.
• The RNLI’s expert objections have not been properly addressed.
• Once these rock structures are built, the damage cannot easily be reversed.
You do NOT need to write a long letter. Even a few sentences matter.
LET'S FIGHT THIS AND PUT A STOP TO A HIGHLY FLAWED AND DESTRUCTIVE PROPOSAL!.
✅ MOST IMPORTANTLY: Lodge your objection with Blackpool Council before Tue 02 Jun 2026:
Via the council's Planning portal:
https://idoxpa.blackpool.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=makeComment&keyVal=_BLCKP_DCAPR_69265

OR email: planning@blackpool.gov.uk
( If emailing, add: “Please do not publish my address on this publicly viewable application.” underneath your name and address )

PLEASE DO THIS NOW WHILST IT'S FRESH IN YOUR MEMORY. We only have until the 2nd June to do this, so IT IS A MATTER OF URGENCY.

I will keep you posted with more updates when the time is appropriate.
Thank you once again,

Regards,
Mark Butcher
