If ESU proceeds with unnecessary and historically unprecedented deep cuts to essential academic departments, student services, and tenured faculty, lasting damage will be done to ESU's value and reputation.

We, the undersigned, strongly object to reductions of ESU’s curriculum and reduction of professors proposed by the University’s administration. There have been no sincere efforts from the administration to collaborate with various campus constituencies to find alternative ways to reverse current financial pressures. Further, there has been no clear rationale for the selection of departments being considered for such cuts. We believe that such cuts would severely compromise ESU’s mission to provide “Challenging and contemporary undergraduate and graduate curricula that engage and equip students to critically appraise and apply knowledge in their lives and chosen fields of study” (from the University Mission Statement”). WE BELIEVE IN EAST STROUDSBURG UNIVERSITY.
