Stop the curfew at Delaney Hall
The Issue
I am deeply upset watching families being torn apart over falsehoods. How is it possible, in a nation that prides itself on liberty and justice, to detain individuals indefinitely without due process? The recent implementation of a curfew outside of Delaney Hall is not just an overreach, it's an affront to the fundamental rights we hold dear. Protestors, people who are standing up for what is just, deserve to remain outside Delaney Hall to express their dissent against the inhumane practices inside.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency has a well-documented history of mistreatment, and the stories pouring out of Delaney Hall are no different. Reports of psychological and physical torture are alarmingly normal, creating a toxic environment that should have no place on American soil. This is not about law enforcement; this is about ensuring human rights and dignity are preserved.
The curfew was implemented under the guise of safety, yet it effectively silences those who stand against tyranny and oppression. It is nonsensical—a measure meant to control rather than protect. The safety of the protestors is paramount, but their voices need not be muted for the sake of compliance with flawed regulations.
We need to hold ICE accountable and allow protestors to continue their righteous cause outside Delaney Hall. The public must be aware of the injustices occurring within, and the protestors' presence draws necessary attention to these pressing issues. By lifting the curfew, we not only restore a fundamental right to peaceful assembly but also reaffirm our commitment to justice for all, regardless of their immigration status.
Sign this petition to urge local authorities to immediately lift the curfew and allow protestors to remain vigilant and vocal in their stand against injustice at Delaney Hall. Let us stand united for human dignity and the truth. Please add your name and support for change. Together, we can make a difference.
