Stop the Culling of Australia’s Native Dingoes

Stop the Culling of Australia’s Native Dingoes
The issue
Save Australia’s Dingoes Before It’s Too Late
Right now, Australia’s native dingoes are being killed for doing exactly what they have done for thousands of years — simply existing in their own home.
On K’gari (formerly known as Fraser Island), dingoes are being euthanised and destroyed not because they have been proven responsible for harm, but because they are deemed “fearless” or were present in an area. Entire family groups are being wiped out before investigations are complete. Once they are gone, they are gone forever.
These animals do not get a trial.
They do not get a voice.
They do not get a second chance.
Dingoes are not pests. They are a protected native species, an apex predator, and a vital part of Australia’s ecosystems. On K’gari, they are not intruders — they belong there. Humans are the visitors.
When something goes wrong, it is too easy to blame wildlife instead of addressing the real causes: human behaviour, tourism pressure, food access failures, and long-standing management decisions. Killing dingoes does not fix these issues. It only shifts responsibility onto animals that cannot change the conditions imposed on them.
Families are being torn apart.
Pups are losing parents.
An entire species is being punished for human failure.
Calling this “euthanasia” does not make it humane. The outcome is the same — fewer dingoes, broken ecosystems, and a dangerous precedent that native wildlife can be destroyed whenever management systems fail.
There is another way.
We can protect people and protect dingoes at the same time. With stronger education, strict food control, real enforcement, and non-lethal management strategies, coexistence is possible. But it requires leadership, compassion, and the courage to stop reacting with fear.
If we stay silent, this will continue — not just on K’gari, but everywhere dingoes exist.
By signing this petition, you are standing up for animals who cannot defend themselves. You are saying that Australia must do better. You are demanding that our native wildlife be protected, not scapegoated.
Please sign, share, and help stop the killing of Australia’s dingoes before more lives are lost.

Take One More Step (It Only Takes a Minute)
Signing this petition is powerful — but direct emails to decision-makers and the other departments carry even greater weight. We ask every signatory to also send an email to the Queensland Government calling for an immediate halt to dingo culling and a shift towards humane, non-lethal management.
To make this task as easy as possible, we have provided a ready-to-use email template, a full list of who to contact, and their email addresses on this website. You can copy it, personalise it if you wish, and send it in just a few minutes. Every message adds pressure, visibility, and accountability — and shows that Australians are watching and demanding better protection for our native dingoes.
Download the free email template along with all the senator email addresses and the landholder emails. We have a free social media kit to help spread the word; it includes images and content for social media posts.

The core action items are laid out clearly in the templates:
The template letter, which is available as Template Letter.docx and Template Letter.pdf files (both inside and outside the Templates subfolder), explicitly frames the culling as a consequence of "human system failures" (tourism pressure, food access failures) and calls for the genuine and transparent inclusion of Traditional Owner perspectives from the Butchulla people in all decisions affecting wongari (dingoes) on K’gari.
PLEASE SHARE THIS CHANGE.ORG PETITION TO ALL YOUR SOCIALS – This will facilitate the widespread dissemination of information to people. It will make this happen much faster. We need to stop the QLD government from killing any more of our dingoes.
Thank you for all your support.
