The introduction of the Crystal Reserve Pass at Crystal Mountain is set to create an inequitable experience for skiers and snowboarders. This pass proposes to allow individuals who pay an additional $1500 to access priority lift lines during peak times on weekends and holidays, effectively creating a class-based system on the slopes.

Implementing such a system threatens the community atmosphere and will pit skiers and boarders against each other.  Skiing and snowboarding should be experiences that promote equality and shared enjoyment of the outdoors, regardless of one's financial status. By allowing priority access through additional charges, Alterra Mountain Company risks alienating the average ski enthusiast who makes up the core of the skiing community.

We call upon Alterra Mountain Company to cancel the implementation of the Crystal Reserve Pass and explore alternative solutions that enhance the visitor experience without segregating customers based on financial ability.
